The first sculpture above is natural materials including burlap and paper towels dipped in gesso which dries into a hard form that can then be painted. The sculpting is all done wet. This little guy is about 18 inches high.
The Twilight Zone sculpture above is life size, made from one of my old suits that was otherwise headed for Goodwill. There is a wood and cardboard frame inside, but most of the "solid" form comes from the several coats of gesso soaked into the cloth. The head and hand are plaster.
The dragon below is more of the paper towel & gesso mix that I use like paper mache'. It has a wire frame covered with chicken wire on the inside. Its eyes and mouth light up with red lights inside. If I ever find a small enough fog machine, there's a cavity inside reserved for "smoke". The dragon is about 4 feet long. All of the above may be seen at my office.
