Zap (whose full name is Benjamin Q. Knott) started as a sculpture made of old computer parts, from circuit boards to CD drives. As the sculpture evolved, it took on a personality. Once the personality started to appear, it only made sense to add some real sculpting to make a completely comical character.
Zap's primary purpose in life is laughs, but he has also served as the poster child for some advertising fun at our engineering company.
Zap needed a girl friend, so along came Zelda. They make a nice couple. They were for a time displayed prominently at my office and made a good welcoming committee. You could count on Zap and Zelda to be an ice breaker and conversation starter regardless of who visited.
(Actual size: about 4 feet tall.)
